Making a Christmas Photo Book for Friends

Sunday, February 19th, 2012

One of the best gifts I gave last year was a set of Christmas photobooks for friends that celebrated our relationships. It was the first time that I’d really had a go at making them, after taking photographs for lots of years. A friend who had made them before gave me some tips, and I ended up decidiing to organise the books around different occasions in our lives. This ranged from birthdays through to holidays, and some attempts at setting up pub football teams. I thought about making different books for different people, with the idea that they would be customised around particular photographs. However, I ended up deciding that it would better to just have a shared set containing the same photographs. This allowed me to pick the best shots, and made the books more of a gift that had the same effects and quality regardless of who received it.

From the Whimsical to the Elite Cartoon Tattoos Speak

Tuesday, January 31st, 2012

Cartoon TattoosCartoon Tattoos are chosen for a variety of reasons; reminders of childhood, personality alignment, and simply because you want to show the world your idea of a favorite character. Tattoos can be funny, whimsical, superheroes, villains, anime, or favorite classical cartoon character . They can be used to embellish other tattoos like placing anime tattoos within the design elements of Japanese tattoos, or place a favorite villain on a motorcycle for biker tattoos.

There are even cartoon tattoos that speak with bubble words to express your feelings about a momentous moment in your life. Whichever reason you have chosen to display cartoon tattoos, they will always be a colorful reminder for everyone to see.

Classic Cartoon Tattoos

One of the favorite classic cartoon tattoos for sailors has always been Popeye, the epitome of the tattooed seaman! This pipe smoking, growling, spinach eating character symbolizes the toughness and strength of the seaman. Sailors have loved Popeye since he made his first appearance back in 1929 in a comic strip.

For others who love cartoon characters it is a way to show their sense of humor, and ability to laugh at life’s serious side. With tattoos of Donald Duck, Daffy, Bugs Bunny, Goofy, and Mickey Mouse gracing their forearms, backs, and legs, people have always used classic cartoon tattoos to show their lighter side. Using cartoon characters is also a way to humanize a serious tattoo with humor; creating a double meaning for those who look close enough at the cartoon tattoos design.

Anime Cartoon Tattoos

The adult nature of the pinup style women in anime cartoons, makes them the perfect foil for guys who want sexy pinups, but modern design elements. With their realistic bodies, and sexy clothing, anime tattoos give guys the opportunity to use these versatile characters as the ultimate Cartoon Tattoos. Placing them along side Japanese calligraphy tattoos, is a way to blend the two elements in harmony.

The world is full of superheroes and villains, and your choice of using a favorite movie or cartoon character for your cartoon tattoos is almost limitless.

Olympus 14-42mm Description of Features

Friday, January 27th, 2012

Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ7 Digital CameraThe Olympus 14-42mm is the standard lens which Olympus supplies with their DSLR cameras, including the E-510, E-400 and E-420. This lens is remarkably compact in design and I was told by the salesperson that this lens is the smallest and lightest DSLR zoom lens currently on the market, which makes it ideal for the operator who requires a very portable camera and lens. Despite its very small size, the 14-42mm exhibits a number of great features. These include two aspheric elements and one extra-low dispersion (ED) glass element. The salesperson informed me that the Olympus 14-42mm lens also incorporates a circular aperture diaphragm, to provide good rendition of defocused areas of the image. I personally like this feature and consider it to be one of the reasons for buying this lens. The lens also incorporates an internal focusing system. There is a proper manual focus ring and a non-rotating front element, which is important should the operator choose to use a filter.

Positives of the Nikon 28mm 2.8

Tuesday, January 17th, 2012

Chromatic Aberration @ 12mmThe Nikon 28mm 2.8 despite being a really old lens, has a lot of good things. The image quality of this lens is really top notch. The lens offers amazing sharpness at the centre as well as at the borders and that too at all focal lengths and apertures. The only problem areas are vignetting and a little bit of barrel distortion. Vignetting control is quite good above f/2.8 and unlike most lenses of that period, this one has amazing control over chromatic aberration. The autofocus feature which runs on a screw motor mechanism is very fast and gives accurate focusing results. The build quality of the lens is also quite good as the lens has a metallic mount and not a cheap plastic mount. The lens is a great lens at the price for which it is offered and the online availability of the lens is also quite good.

Planning My Daughters Sweet Sixteen Party

Sunday, December 11th, 2011

Back when I was growing up sweet sixteen parties were a big deal. I can vividly remember my party and the pretty pink streamers that decorated the back yard where a live band played for me and all my guests. Nowadays and in the neighborhood that we live in sweet sixteen parties are not popular and my daughter has never attended one. Despite that fact I am planning a big shindig for her birthday this year. We have a pool in the backyard so it will essentially be a pool party with a bunch of activity stations set up around the yard. I googled photobooth rental san francisco and found a great company that will be setting up a photo booth station in the front yard for all of her friends to take pictures as they enter the residence. I really hope she loves her party as much and I have loved planning it.

With a large number of services of service providers offering pencil drawing services online this can turn out to be a tough task. There are several factors that one must keep in mind while selecting a service provider. Check for reviews, ratings or comments posted online by users who have used the services of the service provider before. Check out the samples displayed by the service provider on their website. See if they are good enough and meet your requirements. Also go through the profile of the artists and the firm and try to understand how long they have been in the business. The longer the period they have been in industry the more reliable they are. Do not jump at tempting offers and bumper discounts they can be misleading and even fraudulent.

I Want to Take Some Pictures of My Dog

Thursday, November 10th, 2011

A couple of years ago I got a dog. I never thought of myself as a dog person, but I decided to get one anyways. I decided to get a German shepherd because I wanted to have a guard dog. At first I thought that I would just take good care of my dog, but that he would live in the yard and just protect the house. After spending some time with my new dog I realized that he was going to become my best friend. My dog is almost like a child to me and I am so glad that I got him. I am planning on taking some professional pictures of him. After I have the pictures taken I would like to look on the Internet for canvas prints US so that I can have one or two of them printed on canvas. I might sound a little bit crazy, but I love my dog.
